Bloghoppers

There are several kinds of people here in Tabulas who I have grown to dislike.
I don't like the posers, people who force themselves to speak fluent english. The end result is an entry with a series of typographical errors that make no sense whatsoever.
I don't like bashers. People who try to put down other people just because this is cyberspace and they can't get what they deserve. My sympathies to Karlo and Camz. I hope your number one fan gets tired of it soon.
And last, I dislike the ever so rampant bloghopper.
And that is what my entry is about. I guess the title makes it pretty obvious.
I've been a tabulas user for, say, two years now. Over the last two years I can't count how many times my tagboard has been cluttered with "Bloghopping", "Blogtimizing", "Just dropping by", and "Hey, nice". Honestly, I can't think of a more pathetic way to get people to check out your site. Isn't there a better way to get some attention?
I dunno, look at my site. It's basic. It's the default template that tabulas provides. Now click on my profile, check out the "friends of" list. Yeah, that's a lot. It's not because of my site. It's because of the way I write.
Bloghopping is a bore. It's a desperate way to call attention to yourself. Don't get me wrong. I bloghop. I tag in tagboards. But I actually read the entries. I don't just tag in tagboards and advertise my site. So if you're a bloghopper, try doing it that way. If you're gonna "just drop by", why don't you check out what the site has to offer. Otherwise, you're just being pathetic.
Thanks to the wonders of modern technology. There are a bunch of liars out there. Turns out people who say that they read your blog, don't. My good friend, Grubb, through some kind of tracker, concluded that people spend like 10 seconds in your site.
So please, next time some dude tags you with the aforementioned phrases, don't humor him. Because you're just rewarding him. If his blog really is worth reading, good. Otherwise, let him keep tagging.

Oh, and by the way. I have made friends who did that to me. But their blogs are actually worth my time.

Posers-- maybe they are just trying to practice the English language (and not to mention the grammar). Again, let us be more considerate because they might be learning and growing by forcing themselves to be fluent.
Sorry if I sound like lecturing.
But you are right. It's all in the writing. Though, personally I like a blog which is visually stimulating and worth reading.
By the way, what about the plagiarists? Aren't they contemptible? haha..and the lurkers?
This is a very late comment...

As a blogger, I put more premium in reader comments to an entry I posted, because it validates why I blog in the first place: to share my ideas and experience, and to learn new ones from others. A tagboard conveniently shuttles that need, and further encourages lazy communication when messages could be done privately thru email or with relevance thru post comments.
When I first visit a blog, I go to the Archives and scan the earliest 5 posts and go forward to the 5 latest entries. That usually is enough to decide if I'm wasting my time or not :) But that's just me.

No, I don't mind at all. I didn't know I was advertised in his site. Haha. Yeah, I hope so. It looks like she's beginning to tire, though.
Blue_Starfish

I agree *nod nod*. :-D
ever noticed some bashers don't leave their links? I wonder why.
Sharkbait

Ya, because they're not brave enough? But then again, anyone naman who picks a fight online isn't brave enough. Haha.

Amen to that dude. One time I posted something about my life and my epiphany and this dude corrected me as if I should have failed instead of succeeded. Now that's being bitter to the 10th level. I think i still have my post but I deleted his comment. Hehehe. We still got the power.
And to irk him more I deleted his comment even before anyone gets the chance to read it. He eventually stopped. Lol.

Yeah, look at my tagboard. Even <b>with</b> this entry, people <b>still</b> go about it.
cigarette_girl

i tag when i check a site only if the site has stuffs i like reading, or when its just really pretty. but its not a way to ask them to check yours. unless you tag them with "daan ka by my site too ha?" then again, i don't get people. i' wired weird that way.
Sharkbait

cigarette_girl

hahaha!
how do u got a hold of that tracker thingy?
Sharkbait

I wish I knew, dude.

Oo, I bloghop. But I don't leave tags just to advertise my site. I <b>read</b> entries. I ask permission if I can comment.
Next time na magpapaangas ka, pakilala ka ha. Chaka wag ka magpaangas ng basta basta, lalo kung di mo alam kung ano sinasabi mo. Ayan, napahiya ka tuloy.

the phrase bloghopping is about to become a cliche in the near future. haha. you haven't seen the worst, some actively advertise their site. i like bloghopping. i tag when i feel like it. i used to have a long list in my "friend of" (before i took myself out from their friends list, i mean), but i've gotta admit that's because mostly of my layouts. some people like my designs. :) writing is more of my bf's avenue, hehe. and also because i like to read and comment on my friendss' entries.
the thing is, you've gotta like something about the site at least, and you've gotta <i>mean</i> it. otherwise, you become a budding spammer. haha.

i've got a default layout, too, y'know. hehehe. but i guess some changes may occur--in a very short while. ha-ha.
and yeah, thanks, by the way, for the sympathy.
happy writing!

Changes? Made by that someone special? Hahahaha.

seriously, i do hope the people who visit my blog actually read my entries... di lang dahil sa layout... T_T
Sharkbait

As for you. Don't worry. You're a good writer naman eh. And I like passing by your site. ;)

speaking of taggers, someone tagged me a month ago. he/she/it (maybe the tagger's gay.. i dunno) said that i blog about my boyfriend too much. he/she/it even called me malandi. -__-

Anyhoo.. I bloghop sometimes, but rarely leave tags/comments. When I read something I really like, or for some reason I like the feel of the person's blog, that's when I leave my mark.
Sharkbait

Wow, it's nice to see your name in my comments again, kakamiss, haha.
I want a tracker also!!!

why the sudden irk ness on bloghoppers/bloghopping?
i do bloghop but yes, like you, i don't just leave tags, i actually read and do leave comments.
tsaka oo. nakikibasa na nga lang ang lakas pa ng loob mag-insulto. bad!
maybe i should get that tracker you're talking about. hmm.. ;-)

"Just dropping by" -- this is my line. bloghopper here. :) i love bloghopping. i met my boyfriend for two years now because of bloghopping and reading entries.
though i actually read, i don't see anything wrong with people tagging just to get traffic on their sites. okay, posers annoy me, but those who just want attention.. hmm.. i see them as people wanting to gain friends. i don't see anything wrong with that. :)
Sharkbait

Gaining friends? Fine, nothing against that.
PrinsesaRika

Sharkbait

I just stated why I don't like it, and why I think it's kinda...well...desperate for attention. I never actually <b>called</b> them anything. :-D
PrinsesaRika

I sensed an attack. :)
Sharkbait

I don't attack people online. That's something reserved for people who aren't brave enough to do it in real life. Hahaha.
PrinsesaRika

From what I understood, if a person doesn't read (check out what the site has to offer), then he/she's pathetic.
I just disagree. ^___^
peace :)\/
Sharkbait

In my opinion, it <b>is</b> pathetic. It's a way of calling attention to one's blog because he doesn't have the capability to write interesting entries to call people to his blog.
Dropping by and commenting, is a different story. Because you actually <b>read</b> entries. Ever heard of "Do unto others"? This is what I understand to your first comment of making friends.
PrinsesaRika

i really don't see nothing wrong with the 'just dropping by' line + not reading. :)
opinion respected, opinion made. ^__^
Sharkbait

Back to the topic.
Yeah, well, while you don't see anything wrong, I do. Because they want people to read their blogs right? So here they are, tagging every tagboard they come upon, <b>not reading</b>. So they want people to read their entries when they can't even do the same? Isn't that kinda...makapal?
PrinsesaRika

and yeah, i know you're not going to take anything against me. i think you're a level-headed person.
i still don't think anyone's 'makapal'. :D hihihi
Sharkbait

Well, to make my side clear to you. I do have friends that were made through bloghops. I just don't like it when people bloghop, get people to read their blogs, and they can't even return the favor.
PrinsesaRika

Yeah, it may seem unfair that they have readers, but don't read.. but there are no rules about that. :) They just want to know people. ;)
